What's Happening in Lancaster, CA…

Lancasters has states safest motorists, says report

Among its selling points, L.A. County’s Lancaster can boast having the safest roads of any city in the Golden State.

Allstate Insurance has released its ‘Allstate America's Best Drivers Report’, the 11th such annual report, and it shows that the average Lancaster driver is involved in an auto collision approximately every 10 years. That puts Lancaster on par with the national average, and ahead of all other California cities.

This is something Lancaster City Officials will want to make mention of in future promotional materials they send to their local print company. Fewer accidents in a location can be a contributing factor to lower automobile insurance premiums, and that may encourage families and business to relocate here.

If the first six months of this year are any indication, the National Safety Council’s projection of 2015 turning out to be the most dangerous year for drivers since 2007 could be true. This is likely the result of increased travel in 2015. Cumulative travel this year has, according to the latest Traffic Volume Trend Report by the Federal Highway Administration, increased by 3.5%.

The Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report recognized Kansas City, Kansas as the city with the nation’s safest drivers. The likelihood of drivers there having an accident is 24.8% less than the once every 10 year national average. Kansas City drivers average an automobile collision only once every 13.3 years.
