Lancaster to build significant renewable hydrogen production facility

A major renewable hydrogen production facility will be built and operated in Lancaster by Element Resources.

This facility will expand the company’s relationship with the city to build one of the largest such facilities in the state. News about such facilities is often disseminated throughout a city and surrounding areas with poster printing.

The project is less than 100 miles from the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and will supply those throughout the greater metropolitan area of Los Angeles. During the first phase, Element Resources plans to produce 20,000 tons of renewable hydrogen each year. This project will also be a major part of the Eastside Overlay of the city and be on the site of the large clean energy portfolio of the city.

Mayor of Lancaster, R. Rex Morgan, expressed his excitement on behalf of the city to expand its partnership with Element Resources on the renewable green hydrogen production project, which will enable decarbonization in the region.

CEO of Element Resources, Steve Meheen, expressed his pleasure in working with the city. He said the city has been pro-active in its approach to the transition to clean energy which will enable the Lancaster Lean Energy Center to be built which has access to rail transportation and highways and will be able to serve the markets in Southern California.
