What's Happening in Lancaster, CA…

The Friends of the Antelope Valley Fair Inc. will be receiving a loan from the city of Lancaster so that the Antelope Valley Rural Museum can be completed.

The loan, totaling $250,000, will go towards building a permanent home for the museum, which will span 12,000 square feet. It will be located near its current home at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds. The museum currently shares space with the Garden Building and the Farm, such that this new building will triple the space the museum occupies. Banner printing services can be used at such sites so that the community is informed about projects in motion.

Of the 12,000 square feet, 10,000 square feet will be allocated for exhibition space, with the remaining footage to be used for a community meeting room for other historical groups, as well as a library and kitchen. The loan will enable the completion of the interior of the building to be accelerated as the shell is constructed. This will enable the growing and extensive collection of the museum to become accessible to the community as soon as possible.

There will be no payments due on the loan for two years, after which time the museum can pay the full amount of the loan with interest accrued in a balloon payment. Alternatively, the loan can also be paid in full before the end of two years with no prepayment penalties.
