A Rockabilly band that specializes in covers of classic rock songs will be in Laguna Hills soon.
Buckshot is currently vocalist Phil Vorndran, bassist Nick James, guitarist John Darrow, and drummer Andy Magana. The band met and formed in 2021 in a studio in Anaheim, where they had gotten together with the idea of bringing rocking, high-energy versions of rockabilly and rock hits from the 1950s.
They covered songs by the great artists of that era such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Eddie Cochran, and many others. They also cover bands that cite the 1950s artists as their inspiration, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Social Distortion, and the Stray Cats.
Buckshot’s extensive setlist includes hits such as “Jailhouse Rock” and “Don’t Be Cruel” by Elvis; “Johnny B. Goode” and “No Particular Place to Go” by Chuck Berry; Eddie Cochran’s “Summertime Blues”; “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash; “Shake, Rattle and Roll” by Bill Haley and His Comets; “That’ll Be the Day” by Buddy Holly; “Ain’t That a Shame” by Fats Domino; “Rock This Town” and “Stray Cat Strut” by the Stray Cats, and many others.
Buckshot will be at Neighbors Bar & Grille on August 16. The venue is at 24401 Ridge Route Drive in Laguna Hills. When they book artists like this, venues often use Posters to promote the event, which they can order at Print shops.
