Tournament raises funds for Huntington Beach families
Poker players and enthusiasts in Huntington Beach will have an opportunity to put their skills and luck to the test, as a memorial poker tournament is being organized.
The 3rd Annual Nick Vella Memorial Poker Tournament and Fundraiser will welcome players from across Huntington Beach and the surrounding area next month. The tournament will allow players an opportunity to combine skill and luck while raising money for a good cause, and potentially leaving with winnings of their own.
The tournament is being organized by the Huntington Beach Police Officers Foundation to raise money to provide financial aid to law enforcement families. All proceeds from entry fees and concessions sales will benefit the non-profit organization. Flyer printing is an effective way for such organizations to raise awareness of fundraisers and generate excitement within the community for increased attendance.
The tournament will feature an intermission period where players can purchase add-ons and rebuys. The final table will provide prizes for all nine players who make it, with the champion winning $1,000. The other eight finalists will choose from eight other prizes.
The poker tournament will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 18311 Gothard Street in downtown Huntington Beach. The doors will open at 5:00 PM, and the tournament will end around 8:00 PM. General admission covers food and beverages and costs $81 per player online.
