Marathon race kicks off new year in Huntington Beach

A marathon race is being organized in Huntington Beach in a few weeks, giving distance runners in Orange County a beautiful course for qualification for the Boston Marathon.

The 2026 Surf City Marathon, the race where ocean waves meet the open road, has opened registration to distance runners who want an opportunity to test themselves and qualify for the vaunted Boston Marathon. The course is an award-winning run, and is famous as one of the most scenic marathons in the United States. It features a flat course with impressive views for runners to enjoy as they work their way toward the finish line.

Organizers anticipate runners traveling from all over the country to take part in this year’s race, which gets started along the Pacific Coast Highway. Participating runners will continue along the path and get a glimpse of the Huntington Beach Pier. Banner printing is a colorful and memorable way for organizers and sponsors to raise brand visibility during such events.

In addition to the marathon, the event will feature three other race options, including a Beach Mile run. A half-marathon and 5K run will round out the registration options.

The race is scheduled for Saturday, January 31st, at 8:00 AM. Registered runners will meet in Huntington Beach on the Pacific Coast Highway. Registration is open on the marathon’s website.
