A race that promises to be fun and exciting is on the way to Huntington Beach.
The Ragnar Relay So Cal 2020 is a team run that starts in the early hours of the morning and goes through to the next afternoon. The race goes from Huntington Beach to Coronado, a distance of about 100 miles one way. Runners will pass through cities such as Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Encinitas, and La Jolla on the way down the coast.
They will also have the opportunity to run along the ocean at night, as well as seeing the groves of oranges that gave their name to Orange County. The finish line is south of Coronado, at Silver Strand Beach, which will also be the site of the post-race party.
The relay, as the name implies, is a team event, with each runner assigned to a specific part of the course. In addition, there are designated locations where the runners will hand off to the next team member. The sections vary in length and difficulty as well. Ragnar organizes races throughout the country, and got started in 2004, when enthusiastic runners in Utah wanted to hold a long-distance relay at night.
Although it worth checking on all events at the moment due to coronavirus concerns, this particular Ragnar run was still scheduled to take place on April 3 at the time of writing, from 4:00 am until 1:30 pm, starting on the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach.
