Special races are coming up in Huntington Beach to celebrate both health and Cinco de Mayo.
The “Cinco De Miles” event offers a 5K and 10K run/walk, allowing participants to choose whether they want to jog, walk, or run. The races are a celebration of both Mexican culture, and specifically the Mexican army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, and of good health in general. Banner printing can be used to create signage for outdoor events like this.
Event organizers encourage those taking part to enjoy the various aspects of Mexican culture that are planned. These include salsa and chips, music being played on the racecourse, a warm-up session held live, and parties both ahead of the races, and after they are finished. Awards will be given to participants in various age divisions, and the timing will be done with RFID chips.
In addition, participants will receive cast medals customized for this event, along with “Cinco De Oh My Oh.” Participants’ times can be scored in three different races in the SoCal Series: the Cinco De Oh My Oh, the Tiki Beach 5K/10K, and the SoCal Pirate’s Run.
The beach course is flat and fast for runners. Those who are jogging, walking, or bringing strollers can use a paved sidewalk or paved road. The races are scheduled for the Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, on May 2. The races all begin at 8.00 am, and there is a virtual option available.
