The $135m Pacific City Mall (PC) opened on November 5 to much enthusiasm, despite the fact there were fewer businesses ready than had been expected.
The 191,000-square-foot mall is located on a 31-acre site a block south of Huntington Beach’s pier as part of the hotel, residential, and retail project. The mall at full capacity will, between retail stores and eateries, have 60 establishments. For now though, only a handful were there for the opening.
No doubt professional banner printing services assisted some of the businesses up and running on the mall's first day. They, along with Stationery and business card printing services, will look forward to the businesses’ patronage being spread out over time.
Eight establishments were open for business, with a ninth, Irene's Story, opening for business the next day. Included in the eight were Equinox, a gym that opened with a complement of 1,500 members, and Savvy Naturals, a business featured on ‘Shark Tank’ that makes vegan, gluten, and soy-free personal care products.
Two retail clothing stores, West of Camden and The Wearhouse, were among those businesses that can say they were open from day one, as can jewelry shop The Nook. Chico Hats and the vintage-inspired home furnishing store, Cherry Hills Markets, also made an immediate start to life at Pacific City.
