A special concert is planned to welcome the holidays to Huntington Beach.
The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts is presenting its “Sounds of the Season 2019,” an annual event celebrating the winter holidays. The Academy's Orchestra Department will play seasonal music, and the APA Musical Theatre Department will be special guests for the concert.
In addition, the Music Media and Entertainment Technology Department (MMET) will also perform. This department has two components - Media and Popular Music. MMET Media students learn every aspect of television and film production, and often work on live TV events. They are able to use the latest equipment, and produce their own projects. Students in the music courses learn how to compose their own songs, then record and perform them.
Also performing are the Surf City Singers, who are also students at the Academy, and there will be an appearance by the Huntington Beach High School Band and Color Guard.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the annual Toys for Tots collection run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The toy drive was first held in 1947.
Sounds of the Season 2019 is set for December 12 and 13, at 7:00 pm on both evenings. The venue is the Huntington Beach High School Theatre. Flyer printing can be used to create programs for events such as this.
