Living history examines Civil War in Huntington Beach

The Union and Confederacy are set to collide in Huntington Beach at the end of next month, providing history enthusiasts and children with the opportunity to learn more about the conflict.

The 32nd Annual Civil War Days event is preparing to begin soon, giving Huntington Beach residents two days to meet with the reenactors and learn more about what it was like to serve in the conflict. The purpose of the event is to help visitors become immersed in the history and gain a greater understanding of what happened and how it affected those who participated in it.

The living history event will feature hundreds of reenactors who will dress in uniforms and clothing from the Civil War period. Area students are encouraged to attend and ask questions, with activity sheets provided to enhance their experience. Print shops can be a fantastic resource for organizers looking to improve the guest experience while promoting such gatherings.

Food will be available to guests at the Huntington Beach Historical Society tent. Options include hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, snacks, and soft drinks. The event is open to attendees of all ages, though there will be loud noises.

The living history experience will be held on August 30th and 31st at Huntington Central Park. The first day’s events will begin at 10:00 AM. Attendance is free for all guests.
