Huntington Beach has a new city manager, at least temporarily.
The Huntington Beach City Council recently voted to appoint Dave Kiff to serve as city manager temporarily. He will hold the post while the city searches for a new long-term manager, an effort it hopes to complete by fall. When transitions like this occur, officials might consider creating new Business Cards, with the appropriate title, as a “welcome aboard” gift for the new arrival.
Kiff will replace Huntington Beach's current interim city manager, Lori Ann Farrell Harrison. Farrell Harrison has been handling the duties of the office since Fred Wilson left, and now she is leaving to take over as city manager in Costa Mesa. It is thought she will start her duties on July 1.
Kiff comes to Huntington Beach from Newport Beach, where he was city manager. He was also with a public policy group, the Association of California Cities-Orange County, where he held the post of interim executive director. He also helped found the Orange County Housing Finance Trust, a group dedicated to finding money to fund solutions to the problems of homelessness, including supportive housing.
In his 20-year career with Newport Beach, Kiff has worked on a number of issues, including pension reform, extending the noise agreement between John Wayne Airport and the city, building the Civic Center complex, dredging Newport Bay, and water quality. Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
