The 15th annual Surf City Splash is taking place in Huntington Beach this New Year's Day. Proceeds from the event go to benefit the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum and local school surf clubs.
The day will start off with a pancake breakfast for everyone who has registered to participate. This will be followed by a costume contest. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best celebrity, funniest, best animal costume, and most sparkly costume. Next will be a jump into the ocean at noon, for which swimsuits are necessary but wetsuits are not allowed.
In addition to breakfast, registered participants will receive a T-shirt and a certificate.
Throughout the day, a craft fair will be taking place at Zack's Pier Plaza from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Artisans will be on hand selling a variety of handmade items, such as jewelry, photographs, and paintings. Vendor spaces are still available for $75 each.
