Horses have long been valued human companions, and Huntington Beach area activity will introduce some local four-legged therapists to the community.
The Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center’s team of horses, all of which are rescues, will be interacting with those in attendance for the Hug and Groom session planned at the start of April. Everyone will have the chance to pet their new four-legged friends in the Free Rein Foundation Pasture.
Tickets for the activity are $25, and all monies raised will be used to care for the horses. There will be four to six of them on hand, along with a friendly mule for the attendees to meet. There will be volunteers to provide assistance, and everyone will be able to enjoy free fruit and snacks at the end of their visit.
During the activity, a variety of Hug and Groom Promotional Products will be available for purchase.
For safety, everyone is advised to wear closed-toed shoes through their visit. Special arrangements for transporting participants who require a mobility device, such as a walker or wheelchair, can be made by contacting the organizers ahead of time.
This opportunity for the public to spend time with some equine therapists is scheduled for Sunday, April 7th. It will begin at 11:00 am, and the location will be 6956 Ellis Avenue.
