Families from the Huntington Beach area will still be enjoying lots of seasonal fun when summer ends if they attend an area harvest celebration.
The Kids Fall Harvest fest will pay homage to the area's agricultural sector, and while it does, the organizers hope to build strong connections and trust between community members. While everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, the planners are anticipating a big turnout from North Long Beach, and the festivities will be held free of charge.
The activities on offer have been chosen because they are suitable for kids from ages 3 to 10. There will be crafting stations as well as games, a pumpkin derby, mini-workshops, make and takes, and lots of other ways to join in the fun. A community vegetable swap will give the public an opportunity to share the bounty of their garden with others, and a water bottle refill station will be on site to help make the function a zero-waste event.
Aside from offering fun, community festivals often have a more serious side. Many times, they serve as awareness raisers, and poster printing companies will be happy to help the planners spread the word.
The Fall Harvest Festival for kids will be setting up shop at 6509 Gundry Avenue in Long Beach on October 1. It will welcome families from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
