Quinn's Pharmacy, which recently opened in Huntington Beach, held at Health Fair on December 3.
Pharmacists and other staff members set up the event at the front entrance of their store, which is in the Elan Center at Ellis and Beach. Part of the fun was a balloon archway they erected over the doorway.
Paideia Le, the pharmacist, said Quinn's wanted the pharmacy to be a service-oriented store that did more than just provide pills and fill other prescriptions. Instead, it hopes to be an old-fashioned, neighborhood drugstore that would be familiar to patron's grandparents.
Among the services Quinn's plans to provide are vaccinations of all kinds, diabetes care, clinics on how to remain healthy while traveling, diabetes care, clinics to help smoking, evaluations to help patrons decide on birth control methods, and comprehensive medication management. The last of those measure has been under discussion recently, since interactions between medications can have serious consequences. The pharmacy offers free delivery as well.
Members of the pharmacy staff handed out information during the fair, and the Bolsa Grande High School Marching Band from Garden Grove provided entertainment during the event.
Events like this can benefit if organizers work with brochure printers, which can create Booklets listing all the services and some of the products provided by such companies. Brochures can also list hours, give the address, and provide a map to the location.
