Grooveswitch, a funk band based in Long Beach, is known for blending soulful grooves, expressive messages, and fresh sounds. They will appear in Huntington Beach soon, in a free concert.
Grooveswitch comprises eight professional musicians from the local area, the California region, and from across the country and the world. Their experience allows them to play confidently in the blues, R&B, rock, soul, funk, and pop genres. They cite their inspiration as such artists as James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Rage Against the Machine. Their setlist includes original material, as well as their own funky take on some of the most iconic songs in all of music.
The Grooveswitch line-up is Ed Corbett, saxophone; trumpeter Steve Sydow; guitarist Gil Domingue; percussionist Rodney Henretta; Andre Cynkin handling the keyboards; bassist Rick Jones; drummer Steve Lunn; and lead vocals courtesy of Sharnee Lee Scott.
Scott, an Australian, was frontwoman for Sharmber, a band based in Sydney that rocked audiences Down Under for over 10 years. She said:
"This band is truly an ensemble of some of the most experienced and talented musicians I've ever worked with."
Grooveswitch will be at Gallagher’s Pub in Huntington Beach on Sunday, July 18, starting at 9:00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts to advertise events like this.
