An event being called the “ultimate Christmas run” is on the schedule for Huntington Beach.
The “Santa Claus with a Cause 5k, 10k, Run and Walk” will help people get in the holiday spirit. Part of the event features everyone's favorite—ugly sweaters.
There are four races available: a 5K, 10K, a virtual run, and the “Ho Ho Ho Kids’ Dash Course.” The first two races will use radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips to accurately record race times. All those who finish will get a “Fancy Santa” medal, and there will be awards in each division according to age.
When people register, they will be able to choose either a T-shirt or Santa suit, and there will be awards for those who are judged to be wearing the ugliest sweaters. Carolers will be singing at various points along the race, and hot chocolate, coffee, Christmas goodies, and a raffle will be waiting at the finish.
The event is scheduled for December 13. Prices are $40 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, $40 for the virtual run, and $20 for the kids' run. Registration closes on race day, and discounts will be given to those under 18 or over 70. The three races that are being held in person start at 8:00 am and end at 9:30 am. The location is Huntington State Beach. Banner printing can be used to create decorations, as well as marking the start and finish lines of events like this.
