Activity to show some love to shoreline

A community service project that will give the Bolsa Chica State Beach Jetty and the surrounding area some attention is on the agenda for this February.

A clean-up day has been scheduled by The Surfrider Foundation of Huntington Beach/Seal Beach in a few weeks' time. The activity will run for four hours, and everyone is welcome to roll up their sleeves and pitch in, with the activity open to all ages.

Those who register for the clean-up are asked to bring along some sturdy gloves to wear while they work at picking up litter and debris, and sunscreen is also highly recommended. Hats and comfortable clothing will make the task more pleasant, and anyone who would like to listen to some music while they show the beach some love is encouraged to bring along a portable speaker. Parking is free for the registrants.

To help keep the clean-up organized, Surfriders will have a pop-up tent set up where those who signed up can check in. Banners and other signage for an activity like this may be ordered from area Print shops.

This chance for the public to roll up their sleeves and show some love to Mother Nature will run from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 12. The meet-up point will be situated at 187771 Pacific Coast Highway.
