Workshop on offer for Dublin caregivers

Whether caring for an aging parent, spouse or other charge, an upcoming workshop can give those who live in the area served by Hope Hospice in Dublin knowledge that can be helpful to them on the road ahead.

The organization will be offering its “Understanding Advanced Illness” session, which will explore complex illnesses and how that can change over time. It will be focused on older adults, and will discuss how curative care can adapt to palliative care based upon an individual’s needs and circumstances.

The participants in the workshop will examine the issue from a perspective of the caregiver, and the most common illnesses that occur in senior adults will be included in the discussion. While attending the function is free of charge, the organizers explained that donations to the hospice will be very appreciated, and these will be used to continue to offer this program into the future.

When caring for someone with a complex and changing illness, it can be really important for the caregiver to make sure they give themselves some TLC. Distributing basic care packages to the attendees in a workshop like this can encourage them to slow down and take some time for themselves, and Stationery printers can prepare lists of community resources to include in each one.

Hope Hospice has made arrangements to offer this educational event on August 15th. The venue for activity can be found at 6377 Clark Avenue.
