Two family campouts planned for Dublin this summer

With a pair of upcoming Dublin events, organizers hope area families will enjoy a taste of camping without having to travel far to get it.

The city has planned two family campouts that will include entertainment, games, arts and crafts, a campfire, food, and fun. The traditional camping treat of s’mores will also be served. All of this, including dinner and breakfast, are included in the fee for the campout.

Families who are interested in participating are asked to bring clothing and other items, snacks, sleeping Bags, flashlights, folding or other camp chairs, a tent, and any other supplies they think they will need. Participants are reminded that pets will not be allowed at the event.

The campouts will take place at Emerald Glen Park on July 9 and at Alamo Creek Park on August 13. The check-in time for both is 3:00 pm on the day of the event, with the activities set to start at 4:30 pm. The admission price has been set at $22 per person for residents and $26 for those who are nonresidents. Flyers can be placed throughout the community to help promote activities such as this to the people who live there.
