Yang Liu will be offering Dublin residents a class on making paper narcissuses later this month. The lesson will be taught online.
The class will allow participants to build each component of the flower from paper. This includes the petals, leaves, stem, and buds. Specifics for how to build these paper flowers will be provided during the online meeting. Participants will be e-mailed instructions and details for the meeting after they join.
A material kit is being prepared for each participant. Liu recommends that anyone interested should sign up early for the event, so these kits can be delivered. If participants want to supply their own materials, Liu has made a list of what is needed:
• bright yellow crepe (ideally 90 grams)
• pale yellow crepe
• ivory crepe paper (doubletted is recommended)
• pale green crepe
• medium or dark green crepe (for the stem and leaves)
• florist wire (both thin 24 to 26-gauge and thick 18 to 20-gauge)
• spun cotton balls (should be 10 millimeters)
• glue
Stationery printers are frequently used to obtain these items. Liu also asks that participants supply their own scissors. Q-tips, a small paintbrush, and a silicone spatula are recommended too.
Registration is $50, and only the first 12 participants will be admitted. Intended for those 16 and older, the meeting will be held on Zoom on October 25th at 1:00 PM PST and will last around 2.5 hours.
