For many people, buying their first home can be a daunting process to navigate, and Habitat For Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley has organized an event in Dublin in an attempt to make it a whole lot easier.
The class will give those who attend the tools they need to make their first home purchase a pleasant and exciting experience. It is HUD (Housing and Urban Development) certified, and will answer questions about financing, the advantages of owning versus renting, determining how much a person can afford to borrow, how credit and credit scores work, how to shop for a loan, how to negotiate during the buying process, and how to close the deal. The obligations of a homeowner will also be addressed, as will household budgeting.
Those who take part in the class will receive a certificate of completion. A printer can produce Presentation Folders that can be used to distribute informational materials and other items to the participants in a workshop like this.
The workshop will take place on November 12 in the Regional Meeting Room of the Dublin Civic Center, located at 1000 Civic Plaza. Anyone who is interested in finding out more is asked to email Ms. Peggy Green at PGreen@HabitatEBSV.org, and they can also visit the Eventbrite page that has been set up for it.
