Childhood bullying is an issue that impacts many, and a Dublin initiative will explore proactive steps families, educators and others who work with children can take to address this problem.
The program will be delivered during two separate sessions, and its organizers noted that they highly encourage attendees to participate in both. They are offered free of charge, and will last for approximately two hours each.
The first workshop will equip those who come out with skills they can utilize to recognize Signs of bullying in a child, as well as what can indicate that a boy or girl has been engaging in this type of behavior towards others. The second session will be a peer and coaching session.
Child Care Links has organized these learning opportunities, and they will be facilitated by Kelly O’Lague Dulka, MSW who is the group’s CEO. It was explained that the goals of these functions include fostering an open discussion about bullying in the community as well as what steps can be taken to create both schools and communities that will be bully-free zones. Handouts and other learning materials for this sort of event can be provided by area Print shops.
The first of the workshops will be taking place on October 3, and the second has been scheduled for October 17. They will both be held at 6601 Owens Drive in Pleasanton.
