Dublin to wrap up its outdoor movies run

Dublin will finish its “Picnic Flix” series in August. Throughout the summer, the city has hosted movie nights on Fridays for residents, and the series will conclude with a showing of the animated film Onward.

Onward is a fantastical tale from 2020 that tells the story of the Lightfoot brothers, two elves who go on a quest of magic and discovery. The film is family-friendly, and locals are encouraged to bring their children for this final screening.

The viewing will take place outside, so attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets for seating. Organizers ask that only low-back chairs be used because standard chairs could block the screen for other guests. If guests do bring more standard chairs, they are required to sit on the sides of the venue. Pets are also not allowed at the venue.

Attendees can purchase a meal before the movie starts. Nearby food vendors will open an hour before the event begins. Sponsors have also prepared a giveaway for guests, which will likely consist of Promotional Products and other gifts.

The viewing will take place on August 6 between 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM. Entry to the viewing is free, and it will happen at the Emerald Glen Park at 4201 Central Parkway. Anyone with more questions can email Lauren Marriott at lauren.marriott@dublin.ca.gov or call 725 556-4500.
