Dublin company makes Red Cross donation

Ross Stores, headquartered in Dublin, California, has announced a cash donation in the amount of $25,000 to the Napa Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The donation is being given in order to assist the Red Cross in providing services like shelter, food, relief supplies, and assistance to people who have been affected by disasters such as the recent California earthquake.

President and COO Michael O’Sullivan commented in a press release that Ross Stores has its headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area, and that the company was committed to helping neighbors and communities affected by the earthquake. Many companies choose to donate to various charitable causes in their communities, often using printing services to drum up support.

The company runs Ross Dress for Less; an off-price home fashion and Apparel chain with 1,194 locations in more than 30 states, including the District of Columbia and Guam. Ross sells both designer and name brand Apparel, footwear, accessories, and home fashions, with discounts ranging from 20%-60% off specialty and designer store prices, according to a company press release.

The American Red Cross feeds, shelters, and provides support to disaster victims, and also supplies 40% of the blood products used in the nation. In addition, the organization teaches lifesaving skills, provides humanitarian aid internationally, and supports members of the military and their families.
