Dublin area set to celebrate Chinese style

For the past 2,000 years, displays of brightly lit lanterns have been crafted in China, and the Dublin area will be carrying on that tradition in the annual Lantern Light Festival.

The celebration, which will run for six weeks, will feature lanterns that have been made by hand following methods that have been used for centuries. While the Lantern Light Festival is typically a springtime celebration, this one will be held in late autumn and early winter.

While the colorful lanterns may be one of the event’s main draws, there has been lots of other activities on offer as well. Food will be available for purchase, and acrobats and artisans will be showing off their talents to the crowd. Kids can take a spin in one of the inflatables or enjoy a dragon or dino ride, and there will also be a maze, mini golf, a scavenger hunt, and even a station for emerald mining.

Before they leave to go home from the celebration, those who attended will be welcome to purchase one of the handmade souvenirs that will be on offer. A printer in the local area will be able to offer poster printing and other services that can aid in promoting an event like this to those who may be interested in attending.

This celebration of Chinese culture and traditions will begin on November 30th. Pleasanton’s Alameda County Fairgrounds will be hosting the event.
