Quilting is an art that combines form and function, and a selection of these works of textile art will be on display for the public to admire and enjoy as part of a Dublin area event.
The Amador Valley Quilters Guild has set the date for its 18th annual Quilted Treasures show. It will be a two-day activity, and the gathering is set to be held at 557 Olivina Avenue in Livermore.
During the celebration, people can admire the craftsmanship of the quilts on display, which will be hand made by sewists from the Bay area and beyond. At least 200 will be in the mix, and both traditional and modern designs will be featured.
Together with the displays, the function will provide an opportunity for visitors to shop from an assortment of vendors, gathering Promotional Products and Business Cards as they go. Several prize draws have been planned for the occasion. The top prize will be a quilt made by Linda Schmidt, and there will be other raffle baskets drawn for as well. Food trucks and free parking will round out the festivities.
This celebration of the creative talents of Bay Area quilters is scheduled for June 22 and 23. Its Patch listing offers further information about the weekend, as well as a color picture of the grand prize quilt.
