Runners, walkers and those who require a set of wheels are all being asked to lend their support and come to the Clovis Memorial Run.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Clovis Senior Activity Center, and it includes several different options, and participants can choose the one that is the best suited for them. There will be a five-kilometer walk or run, a half-mile kids fun run and a half-mile long senior Walk and Roll. People can select whether they wish to run or walk, and those who need a wheelchair or other assistive device are also welcome to take part.
All of the routes will set out from the Clovis Senior Center, and participants will also be able to enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast as well as browse through the displays in the resource fair, which will be filled with information for seniors and veterans. Each person who takes part will also be given a special goodie bag, a customized dry-weave shirt and also a ribbon to thank them for taking part. Items such as these can be supplied by a printing services provider.
The cost to participate will be between $15.00 and $30.00, with veterans and active duty military personnel being admitted free of charge if they register before May 5th. The organizers are also looking for people to volunteer for the day handing out water and helping out with other tasks.
The Clovis Memorial Run will be held on May 28th. Additional details and a chance to register can be found on the Visit Clovis website.
