Pinedale Elementary receives national honor, again

A Clovis Unified School has been selected as a National Blue Ribbon School, making it the only one in the central San Joaquin Valley and one of only 24 in California to be so honored.

A few months after being named a California Distinguished School, Pinedale Elementary received the news that it was once again chosen as a National Blue Ribbon school. This designation goes to schools in recognition of either their high accomplishments or for their significant success at closing an achievement gap.

The 267 public schools were named in an announcement made Tuesday, September 30; additionally, 50 private schools were named as well. The honorees will receive official recognition at a ceremony in November. This marks the second year in a row that Pinedale has been included among winners of the award, and the second year it was the only area school to have done so.

Debra Bolls, Pinedale’s principal, gave credit for the recent awards to the school’s teachers who have strived to personalize learning for each student. Special emphasis was given to those for whom English is a second language, those from low-income homes, and those with other special needs.

An important component to the success of any school is parent and community involvement. The savvy utilization of printing services can contribute to gaining that support by supplying Brochures, Posters, and Flyers that explain programs, enlist help, or advertise fundraisers.
