Jersey Mikes Subs growing its presence in the Valley

Only a month after the inaugural Jersey Mike’s Subs opened in Clovis, the company has announced nine more of its franchises are planned for the Central Valley.

Fresno’s first Jersey Mike’s will be at the El Paseo shopping center near Highway 99 Herndon Avenue, in the Marketplace, and is set to open July 22. The second location in Clovis is to open in the fall at 3170 Fowler Avenue. Additionally, property on the southeast corner of Bullard and Blackstone avenues has been leased for another location.

According to the chain’s area developer, Dan Burrell, the original franchisee for the Clovis store will be developing all nine of the planned Jersey Mike’s sites over the next two years. Each location is expected to hire approximately 17 crew members, as well as a manager. Prior to each store opening, a Stationery printing company will no doubt be engaged to supply its manager with digital Business Cards and any other Print products they require.

A portion of each location’s proceeds for the first five days’ will be donated to a local nonprofit. The Clovis Unified School District was the recipient of money donated from the city’s first Jersey Mike’s Subs. Moreover, according to Burrell, all Fresno locations will participate in a month of giving whereby each store donates a portion of their sales to a specific cause specified by the owner.
