Once they have unlaced their boots and hung up their combats for the last time, veterans may still shoulder a heavy burden, and a Clovis event will show that their community stands behind them.
The Carry the Load Walk, which has been scheduled and organized by Carry the Load, will offer a salute to area veterans and first responders. Their families, which have been referred to by some as being the “strength behind the uniform,” will be included as well.
The function will mark Memorial Day by having each walker carry the name of someone who has answered the call, and it will be one of many such events held across the country. The Clovis installment will take place in the evening, and a remembrance of fallen members will be included in the gathering. While it is free to participate, the organizers have asked everyone to register in advance.
Being a military member, first responder, or a family member of one can be a tough row to hoe. Event programs, Banners, flags, and other custom materials for a function can be ordered from area printing services companies.
Clovis residents who would like to be part of the Carry the Load Walk are asked to gather at the city’s 9/11 memorial at 6:00 pm. Anyone who would like to register can do so through the planner's website.
