Clovis dads to be honored during area event

This Father’s Day, Clovis families will be putting on their sneakers and taking part in an area race and fun run, and there are several ways for them to get involved.

The Fresno Father’s Day Run, which is being organized by California Classic Events, will be giving a tip of the hat to area fathers, and the planners explained that they have received approval for it to be an in-person event. There will be a discounted registration fee for runners under nine, and both live and virtual options are in the works.

Those who take part in the activity will receive several perks to thank them for doing so. It will be chip-timed, and free downloadable photos will be taken of all the fun. Dads are encouraged to sign up with their son or daughter for a special competition, and run packets will be available for drive-through pickup.

Each runner or walker will be presented with a root beer float at the finish line, and T-Shirts printed with unique graphic design and finisher’s medals will be distributed as well. To aid in social distancing, each runner’s race bib will be printed with their individual start time, and the staging area will be set up in Fresno’s Woodward Park.

This chance for the public to show some love to the dads in their lives is on the agenda for June 20. Its Run Signup listing includes the most current registration entails.
