Disposing of unused and unwanted paint property does a good turn for the environment, and a collection event for these substances has been added to the agenda for the Clovis area.
Both households and businesses can take advance of the offer, which is an initiative of Paint Care. The collection point will be set up in the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, and as space is limited, the public has been asked to register ahead of the day.
Individual households that would like to make a drop-off can leave latex and oil household paints and primers, and deck and concrete sealers, stains and clear finishes such as shellac and varnish will all be accepted. The organizers have asked that they be in the original sealed containers bearing the original manufacturer’s label. Aerosol and spray paints, large drums, or leaking packages will not be taken.
To ensure safety, advanced online registration is mandatory, and phone call appointments may be made as well. The materials will be removed from the vehicle’s trunk, and the drivers and passengers are asked to remain in their car, truck, or van throughout the process. Signage for this sort of activity is one of the items a banner printing company will be able to supply to the organizer of this sort of community project.
The date for this paint drop-off will be May 15. Drop-off times can be scheduled between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.
