The Coke Hallowell Center for River Studies boasts an assortment of gardens, and during its Gardening Angels volunteer day, the public will be able to get their hands dirty. The activity will give anyone with an interest in gardening a chance to meet others who enjoy the hobby, and it is intended to be both a peaceful and relaxing event.
Those who choose to give the gift of time to the project will be asked to participate in an assortment of tasks such as planting, weeding, deadheading and pruning, and this will help the site to prepare for upcoming educational and community programming. Anyone who has hedge shears, loppers, or pruners is asked to bring them, and sturdy gloves will aid in the work as well.
