The St. Mark’s Youth Basketball League (SMYBL) will be hosting basketball seasons this January in Citrus Heights.
The event will provide young players in kindergarten to second grade with an introduction to basketball fundamentals in a positive, and team-oriented environment. The program is open to both girls and boys.
The SMYBL’s weekly sessions are designed to build skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and team play. Each 60-minute session will feature a half-hour practice followed by a game that lasts 30 minutes. This will give participants the chance to apply what they've learned in a supportive and slightly competitive setting. Players will benefit from age-appropriate equipment, including junior-sized goals and basketballs.
There will be a tournament and a celebratory awards show on the final day to close out the series. Additionally, Each participant will receive a league shirt and a commemorative gift.
For more information, interested families can reach out to league director Tyler Wahl at twahl@StMarksLutheran.com or 916-961-7891.
The player registration fee is $85 plus taxes and fees. Registrations can be done through the Eventbrite listing.
Poster printing can be used to provide attendees with a list of the dates for events such as this one.
The event will take place from January 4th to February 8th. Weekly sessions begin at 8 am at St. Mark's Lutheran School, 7869 Kingswood Dr, Citrus Heights, California.
