The IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Northern California Chapter will host a members-only volunteer build day in Citrus Heights this November in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento.
Participants will spend six hours assisting with construction work intended to support affordable housing efforts for working families in the region. Habitat homeowners and volunteers provide much of the labor on the organization’s building projects, and attendees will work under the direction of Habitat staff throughout the day.
Habitat for Humanity will supply the tools, instruction, supervision, and required safety equipment, including hard hats, protective eyewear, and hearing protection. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, bagged lunch, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and clothing suitable for construction work. Organizers also recommend dressing in layers and bringing personal work gloves if available.
Registration is limited to members of the International Interior Design Association. Admission costs $20 before fees, or $23.18 including a $3.18 Eventbrite fee. Refunds are available until seven days before the event.
The volunteer day is designed to give members a hands-on opportunity to contribute to Habitat for Humanity’s housing projects while working alongside other volunteers and future homeowners. Volunteer events often use poster printing to promote participation requirements, schedules and community partnerships.
The 2026 IIDA Habitat for Humanity Build Day is scheduled for Friday, November 6, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 7809 Sayonara Drive, Citrus Heights.
