The calendar will be created by the kids from a volunteering group called GIVE and is intended to be their contribution to the Scottish Year of Young People activities for 2018. The official launch of the calendar will be on 20th March, during the course of the year, it will be filled with photos of Helensburgh community groups. The calendar will be for 2019.
This process will begin on the launch day, when a photograph of the members of Helensburgh Youth Forum will be taken as the first month’s entry in the calendar. A number of other groups have already been lined up for subsequent months.
Among them are Visiting Friends and Grey Matters, with all shots to be taken by GIVE young people. Later this year, the finished calendar will be made available to buy, with proceeds helping to fund GIVE projects. Argyll and Bute Third Sector Interface’s Gillian Simpson told the Advertiser that:
“It’s about raising the profile of all the wonderful groups and activities that go on in our community and showing how fantastically our community supports each other.”
