Talent contest to take place in Helensburgh

A talent contest for young people in Helensburgh that is modelled on a hit television franchise will be taking place again this summer, as ‘Helensburgh’s Got Talent’ returns.

This competition was held for the first time in 2023 and it proved to be a resounding success. This has encouraged the organisers to bring it back this year, and they have sent out a call for pupils from Lomond and Helensburgh schools to put their names down to enter.

The event is being put together by Helensburgh Community Council. Talking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, a representative from the organisation stated that there were many local people with abilities in dance, music and other areas. He said:
“To showcase their skills and acts, Helensburgh Community Council, under its ‘Music in the Square’ initiative and together with Hermitage Academy, will be once again holding this competition.”

Hermitage Academy will be serving as the venue for the final of the contest, where each entrant will perform live. The organisers of competitions of this sort will need to promote them, and utilising poster printing outlets are a means to do that.

There will be a judging panel that is entirely independent, and the three best acts will be awarded prizes. However, everyone who takes part in the contest will get a certificate to acknowledge their participation.

Helensburgh’s Got Talent will be held this year on Thursday, 20 June, with doors opening to the Hermitage Academy at 6:00pm.
