Recruitment underway for Helensburgh Morrisons store
Plans for the opening of a new branch of the Morrisons supermarket chain in Helensburgh are progressing well, with the company stating that it has received over 1,000 job applications.
Morrisons has acquired a site in Cardross Road that used to be home to Waitrose for its new Helensburgh store, and has already succeeded in finding employees for a number of key positions within it. When it first announced its plans to launch a new store in the town, Morrisons stated that it would be providing jobs for over 150 people and the process was already underway.
Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Scot Byers, the manager of the Helensburgh store, said:
When new supermarkets open, they sometimes make use of local shops that can supply quality banner printing, so that they can place banners advertising promotional offers in the stores.
In addition to the supermarket itself, Morrisons Helensburgh could also be set to feature a garden centre, with plans for this having been submitted to the local council.
The store is scheduled to have its grand opening before the end of 2020, but the exact date for this is still to be confirmed.
