Museum in Helensburgh in running for award

A popular museum in Helensburgh is in the running for a prize at the regional finals of a prestigious annual awards ceremony held next month.

The submarine centre is managed by the Scottish Submarine Trust and is located in West King Street, Helensburgh. It is the only education centre and museum dedicated to submarines in the whole of Scotland and contains audio visual exhibits that teach visitors about these vehicles and about the submarine service’s work. The centre is in contention for an award in the Innovation in Tourism category at the 2019 Scottish Thistle Awards.

These awards were originally launched 27 years ago and were created to honour businesses in Scotland that excel at attracting tourists. Close to 600 companies were nominated for prizes at the 2019 ceremony, making it more impressive that the submarine centre was chosen.

Those running museums of this sort can always turn to places that supply promotional Pens and other items, so that they can stock their gift shops. Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Rebecca Brooks from the judging panel for the awards said:

“On behalf of the panel, I would like to congratulate all shortlisted entrants and wish each and every one of them the very best of luck at the regional finals.”

This event will be taking place on 28th November in Glasgow.
