The Helensburgh branch of Cancer Research UK has officially reached the midway point of its Stand Up To Cancer appeal, and it has already succeeded in bringing in close to £10,000.
Those who work in the shop are now focusing all of their energies and attention on the fundraising events that are still to come, with a couple of major fundraisers due to take place before the end of October. The first of these is a live concert that will be held within the town’s Logie Baird restaurant and it is set to feature three artists.
Louis Page, Everywhere, and Hot Ratz have all been lined up to perform at this gig and the music will be accompanied by a charity raffle, where the potential prizes on offer will include an Epiphone guitar.
The charity concert is set to be followed the next day by a Halloween-themed bake sale called Spooktacular. The venue for this will be the charity shop itself, with staff giving up their time to host it. It is hoped that Helensburgh residents will support the event.
The final part of the appeal will be the Freakin’ Weekend party, also being held in the Logie Baird. These activities take place on the 27th and 28th October and fundraising events like these often use places that supply flyer printing for advertising.
