Blairvadach House is in Shandon, near Helensburgh, and at one time served as an office for Argyll and Bute Council. The council put it up for sale almost a year ago and it is now indicating that a developer is interested in buying the building so that a brand new housing development can be created at the site.
This company has been undertaking surveys at the site, which began in November of last year, and it is expected that these will be completed fairly soon. The next stage after this could be the submission of an application for planning approval for the housing development. Those behind development projects such as this often turn to local printers who can provide brochure printing services to help showcase completed projects.
According to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Douglas Hendry from the council wrote in his report on the matter that:
“The property is allocated in the Local Development plan for housing for 112 residential units and was marketed in early 2019 with a number of offers being received.”
The identity of the housing development firm that has expressed an interest in building on the site has not yet been made public.
