Hotel near Helensburgh in contention for award

A hotel situated not far from Helensburgh has made it to the final stages of a prestigious award to decide the top Scottish wedding location.

Rosslea Hall Hotel is in Rhu and is one of nine places in the South West of Scotland that have reached the finals of the annual Scottish Wedding Awards. It will be competing in the category Wedding Venue of the Year, with the winner set to be announced at a black tie event next year.

The hotel hit the news earlier this year, after a crowdfunder was started online to help a man organise a wedding to his fiancé, who was suffering from terminal cancer. After the fundraising campaign proved a success, Murdo MacLean and Angela Gregory were married at the hotel in July.

The Scottish Wedding Awards aim to recognise venues that go the extra mile to make this day as special as possible for people getting married. Such venues can use local brochure printing shops to help them show off what they offer to wedding parties.

According to the Helensburgh Advertiser, an awards spokesperson said:

“With more entries than ever before, we would like to wish the finalists the best of luck and we can’t wait to welcome our guests at the ceremony and celebrate the winners with them.”

The awards night will be held in February 2022.
