Helensburgh will be playing host to the official orchestra for Scottish Opera towards the end of the month, as part of series of live concerts that are being held at a church in the town.
The Sunday at Seven series of concerts is organised and hosted by Helensburgh Parish Church. The one that is scheduled for the end of this month will be devoted to chamber and piano music; the Scottish Opera orchestra will be performing. Derek Clark, the Head of Music for the company, will play alongside many of his colleagues during the one-hour show.
Piano Quintet in A Major by Dvorak will be the centrepiece of the concert, but there will also be performances of some of Richard Strauss’s chamber compositions. As with all of the other concerts in the Sunday at Seven series, it will be free for people to attend.
