Taylor Wimpey wants to substantially change the existing course at the club as part of a wider development that will also see a further six-hole course built, plus a brand new clubhouse and a housing scheme consisting of 307 homes. These homes and the smaller golf course would be constructed at a site situated in the northeast of Helensburgh.
The homes company is seeking to build at this site will range from large five-bedroom houses to small single–bedroom ones. It has committed to one quarter of them being affordable homes that people will be able to rent via the Dunbritton Housing Association.
Many developers look to brochure printing outlets in the same locale to supply glossy colour Brochures with pictures of their latest homes to buy or rent.
Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, a Taylor Wimpey West Scotland spokesperson said:
“Our planning application for land at Helensburgh Golf Club was submitted to Argyll and Bute Council in October 2021 and is in the process of being validated by council officials.”
The spokesperson went on to say that more in-depth information would be released later this year, after the council reaches a decision.
