The festival for designed for all the family and is a popular annual event in the town, but last year it had to be cancelled due to heavy rain. That has been a problem on a number of other occasions as well. This year, organisers have decided to move most of the events indoors to ensure it runs smoothly, and they are promising the best festival yet.
There is also a new venue, in the shape of Hermitage Academy. Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, the assistant manager for the town’s Cancer Research UK outlet, Alison Sturgeon, said that the basic entry fee covered all of the fun on the day and that any and all cash raised was going to cancer charities, adding:
“The event is organised on a voluntary basis by our tiny team at CRUK Helensburgh on zero budget and without the amazing community support we receive, none of it would happen.”
