Extension planned for Helensburgh arts centre

An arts centre and cinema in Helensburgh is set to be given an extension, following a decision by the local council to approve the Plans.

The Tower Arts Centre is located on Sinclair Street and contains the sole cinema in the town as part of its complex. Now, it is going to be given an ambitious makeover that will see four new function rooms, a bar, an auditorium and a foyer added to it. The extension work will involve two further floors being added to the building, but Plans for an outside area have been abandoned after residents raised concerns.

The project that was submitted to the council was designed by Honeyman, Jack and Robertson, a firm of chartered architects, and planning permission was granted following a report delivered by Frazer MacLeod, the planning officer for the council.

He stated that it would add new leisure options to the centre of Helensburgh and would also be helpful in attracting visitors to the town. Arts centres like this one often use Logo Design services when it comes to creating Posters and Flyers for exhibitions and similar events.

According to the Helensburgh Advertiser, MacLeod added:

“This regeneration development will also be beneficial to The Tower business and other local businesses in the town centre.”

The arts centre originally opened its doors three years ago.
