Dumbarton Volunteer Week

Volunteer Week is hitting Dumbarton big time as a series of vents are happening with the aim to draw more volunteers into roles and help various societies, groups as well as individuals.  The road show aims to give potential volunteers as much info as they need to encourage them to give of their time and talents to help improve the communities that they are part of.

The roadshow is organised by the West Dumbartonshire Community and Volunteering Service who have said that there are over 300 charities,  groups and societies that would welcome extra help, and that by chatting with potential volunteers they hope to match up skills with needs.

Some groups etc need admin help, others need more hands on, some are looking more for those who have time and can labour away.

As well as looking for new volunteers, this week also allows for the celebration of existing voluntary workers.

By giving your time you're helping the charity / group you volunteer for, and you're also helping the people, communities, animals or environments they represent.

What turns that donation into an investment is that you get back far more than you give in terms of a positive feeling, a good line for a CV or knowing you have made a positive difference.

Events such as these can hugely benefit from using local printers to produce leaflets detailing some of the skills needs and opportunities available for people.
