Alan McGee to appear in Helensburgh

The co-founder of the music label that launched Oasis is set to pay a visit to Helensburgh next month, to tell the tale of his long and colourful music industry career.

Alan McGee famously got Oasis started on the road to stardom after seeing them perform live back in 1993 and opting to sign them to Creation Records. He will discuss this and other stories from his career, which dates back to the 1980s, during the course of the evening. The Tower Digital Arts Centre in Helensburgh will be serving as the venue for this event.

Although his Creation Records days may be long behind him, McGee retains a real interest in new music. He has now started a venture he is calling ‘Creation23’ which is focused on uncovering the next Oasis or Primal Scream.

Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, he explained that he feels there are lots of excellent new bands around at the moment. Graphic Design Services are sometimes used to help create Posters advertising gigs and other events. McGee went on to add:

“Scotland and Ireland is great for music at the moment. I love playing in Glasgow and I love the Barrowlands. Small venues like King Tut’s are 100 percent still important.”

The evening with McGee is scheduled to take place on Sunday 7th April.
